Let’s explore how to use traditional, modern, and contemporary methods and strategies for drawing and sketching with Inks in this 5 week course. Starting with traditional pen & ink techniques that concentrating on line, texture, and tone/value, we will develop design strategies that balance visual richness with simplicity. We’ll also experiment with both permanent and water-soluble inks as well as exploring the use of color inks. We will definitely work with ink wash drawing and ink brush drawing to add subtle and/or bold value contrasts. Lots of feedback, helpful handouts, and demos.

STUDENTS: Adults & Mature teens

DATES AND TIMES:

Sundays @ 1:30-4:00 pm for 5 weeks. Starts March 2nd & (barring any weather related closures or delays) runs to March 30th.
