When I first moved here over twenty years ago, my first ever view of Charlottesville was from the top of Pantops. It is actually a low spot in the Southwest Range between Hansen’s Mountain to the north and Monticello and Carter’s Mountain to the south. And while Pantops is pretty heavily developed, I still enjoy the views from this location. Here is a 5x11 watercolor sketch looking south.
